teirake kain kiribati is a 1994 research paper completed during my undergraduate work on the republic of kiribati. Its small land area spread across a large area of ocean intrigued me, as did my otherwise well-informed instructor's lack of knowledge of the country (when he across its name in a list of nations on which we could conduct research, he exclaimed, "where the hell did that one come from?").

the story of kiribati is not exactly uplifting, but a large small country with so little going for it can use all the publicity it can get. i'm glad to help.
